Being a Cub
Cub Scouts are for young people, both boys and girls, aged between 8 and 10 1/2 years old. Cubs are all about having fun, making new friends and trying new things! To join the Cub Pack there is no requirement to having been a Beaver Scout first, however if the Cub Pack is full we give priority to Beaver Scouts who are old enough to move up. 1st Godstone Cub Scouts meet in the Endeavour on a Monday evening from 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm. Due to the popularity of our sections, our groups occasionally reach maximum capacity. We currently operate a waiting list to ensure every young person gets a fair chance to join the adventure, prioritising those members who are ready to move up to the next section. Activities and what you’ll get up to
Prepare for excitement and adventure! Try huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; be creative and get involved in your local community. Learn exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences.

Cub Promise
When a new Cub joins the Pack, we have a short ceremony called an ‘investiture.’ This is when they make their Cub Scout Promise in front of the Cub Pack, and officially become a Cub Scout. The promise is an important part of becoming a member of the pack, and by making the promise, a Cub commits to try their best and to keep the Cub Scout Law.

Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Cubs and embrace your next big adventure.
Uniform and badge placement
You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start speedily earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them!
Cub leaders
All of our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe, inclusive and accessible. Some lead the Pack week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills.
